Kano State: Former Gov Ganduje Urges lawmakers to work with Gov Abba Yusuf
The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, urged Kano Assembly members from his party to cooperate with Governor Abba Yusuf for the benefit of the people.
He emphasized that despite their different political affiliations, they should work together harmoniously to achieve democratic goals.
In a recent visit by 14 Kano Assembly members to the APC headquarters in Abuja, Ganduje acknowledged their long history together and their role in democracy’s growth in Kano State.
Even though the APC lost the 2023 governorship election to the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), he encouraged the members to focus on the state’s development.
Ganduje stressed that the essence of politics lies in people’s development, urging the lawmakers to collaborate with the governor while retaining their Assembly positions. He believed that unity was crucial, aiming for both the people’s benefits and the formation of an APC government in Kano State.
He assured the members of his support and encouraged their peaceful collaboration with the government. Ganduje expressed optimism about strengthening the Assembly and eventually achieving an APC-led governorship.
He said, “The state governor is of a different political party, but I want you to know that the whole essence of politics is the development of the people. I urge you, irrespective of the different political parties, to cooperate with the state governor for the development of Kano State.
“I want you to work peacefully with the government in Kano state and I assure you that we will provide you with all encouragement so that we get more and more members of the State Assembly and also until we get a governor of our party.”
