Europa League: Boniface scores on return for Leverkusen after 3-month injury layoff
Victor Boniface has returned to the field after a three-month injury layoff. He expressed his happiness about this.
Only last week, Boniface made his first appearance of the year during Bayer Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf. This came after he underwent surgery in January for an adductor injury.
On Thursday, Boniface came off the bench to score in Leverkusen’s 2-0 victory over West Ham United in the UEFA Europa League.
This was Boniface’s fifth goal this season in six competition appearances for Leverkusen.
“I feel good, I feel happy to be playing football again,” he said after the game.
“It was not easy after being injured for two, three months.
“I missed a lot of games and I am still trying to come back.
“I am happy to come and help my team.”
