The Taraba State Government has formed a committee to be in charge of palliative care during challenging times.
Governor Agbu Kefas inaugurated the committee on Wednesday, aiming to alleviate the difficulties caused by the removal of the petrol subsidy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The inauguration took place at the Executive Chamber of the Government House in Jalingo, the state capital. Governor Kefas urged committee members to ensure that the distribution of palliatives reaches those who truly need them. He emphasized that the committee should work inclusively, regardless of religious, tribal, or political differences.
Governor Kefas explained that due to the federal government’s directive to assist the people, his administration decided to establish the committee. Its purpose is to reduce the negative impacts of fuel subsidy removal.
The chairman of the committee, Saleh Saad, responded by promising fairness and transparency in their responsibilities. The committee aims to execute its tasks in a way that benefits everyone in the state.
