The Super Eagles’ Portuguese coach Peseiro has confirmed that Victor Osimhen’s scan results are expected later today, October 15.
Daily Stand Nigeria recalls Osimhen was injured during a friendly match between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia in Portugal on Friday, October 13, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
In the 55th minute of the game, the 24-year-old Nigerian striker left the pitch due to the injury’s discomfort.
Peseiro expressed disappointment about Osimhen’s injury and suggested sending him back to Napoli for further examination.
Peseiro won’t risk Osimhen in Monday’s friendly against Mozambique, regardless of the injury’s severity. The match is in Portugal at 4 p.m.
However, if Osimhen’s hamstring injury is any indication, he will not be available when Napoli plays against Verona on Saturday, October 21.
