Former Arsenal and Tottenham player Emmanuel Adebayor revealed his Yoruba heritage despite representing Togo internationally.

The Togolese nationality revealed in an interview with Nigeria’s Television Continental (TVC) that he is a typical Yoruba man.

He explained that, while he grew up in Togo, he has Nigerian roots through his parents. Adebayor’s father is Adeyi Adebayor, and his mother is Alice Eniola Adekanye.

He clarified, “My father’s name is Adeyi Adebayor, and my mother’s name is Alice Eniola Adekanye. So, I am a pure Yoruba man. I was just born and raised in Togo, but I am fully from Nigeria.”
