Thomas Frank could be Erik Ten Hag’s replacement at Old Trafford

According to The Telegraph, Thomas Frank, the current coach of Brentford, is among the potential candidates to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. Frank has led Brentford since 2018 and guided them to promotion to the top league in England.

The Manchester United board has not decided on Erik ten Hag’s future yet. Recent media reports suggest the Dutchman’s potential dismissal, expected next season.

There is a certain connection between Manchester United authorities and Thomas Frank.

The 50-year-old led Brentford to the English elite and secured ninth place with Chelsea last season. It is believed that Frank will adapt to the new structures after INEOS takes over the sports department.

Although Frank currently manages Brentford, Manchester United wants him to focus solely on coaching the team. Dan Ashworth, who is close to joining the Red Devils, and Jason Wilcox will handle transfers.

Manchester United seeks a coach for a long-term project rather than an experienced coach on a short-term deal. Although Thomas Frank lacks experience at the highest level, he demonstrates great potential.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe does not plan to dismiss Erik ten Hag before the FA Cup final. The board will analyze the situation before deciding on the coach this summer.

Erik ten Hag has recently expressed his surprise at the potential dismissal and is not worried about facing a fate similar to Van Gaal, who was sacked after winning the FA Cup.

Another candidate for the Manchester United coaching job is Gareth Southgate, currently coaching the England national team. Southgate is focused on the European Championship at the moment. Several coaches are linked with other teams in the upcoming summer, including Thomas Tuchel leaving Bayern Munich, Graham Potter without a club, Ruben Amorim linked with Liverpool, and Arne Slot favoured to take over after Klopp.
