Sporting Lagos Coach Urges Fans to Exhibit Sportsmanship

Sporting Lagos head coach, Paul Offor, has called on the club’s supporters to display sportsmanship consistently.

Offor emphasized the importance of standing behind the team in both challenging and successful moments.

The coach’s plea comes in the aftermath of a security breach during the ninth matchday encounter against Heartland.

During the game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, supporters of Sporting Lagos threw objects onto the field, leading to sanctions imposed by the Nigeria Premier Football League board.

The disciplinary body fined the club N1 million for the actions of its fans.

Offor, addressing the issue, stated, “The club fans need to behave when the game is not going in our favour.

That’s the league we are clamouring for, but at the end of the day, when it happens in your home, you turn against the player, you turn against the coaches. Then you are not ready for the growth we are asking for.”

This incident raises concerns about the behaviour of fans affecting the team’s performance and the overall growth of the sport.
