The Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905 in Fulham, West London. They compete in the Premier League, the highest English division, at Stamford Bridge.
The club claimed its first League title in 1955 and its first FA Cup in 1970. In 2022, they became the third English club to capture the Club World Cup, having won their first European trophy, the Cup Winners’ Cup, in 1971.
Chelsea has accomplished an unprecedented feat by winning all three main European club competitions prior to 1999 twice.
Additionally, they are the only London club to have won both the Champions League and Club World Cup. Six league titles, eight FA Cups, five League Cups, and four FA Community Shields are their domestic accomplishments.
Since their inception, they have won two UEFA Champions Leagues, two UEFA Europa Leagues, two UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, and one FIFA Club World Cup on the international stage. In terms of overall trophies collected in English football, Chelsea ranks fourth.
Historic rivalries exist with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Leeds United. As of 2022, Chelsea is the eighth-most valuable and eighth-highest-earning football club in the world, with a value of $3.10 billion, respectively.
