Luka Modrić is an absolute Real Madrid’s legend. The Croatian enjoyed his greatest successes with the Spanish giant and is still a very important player in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
However, the fact that the player will turn 39 in September raises serious doubts about renewing his contract for another year.
On Saturday (May 11), the Spanish journalist Ramón Álvarez de Vil announced that the 2023/2024 season is the last one for Luka Modric in Madrid, and Kylian Mbappe will take over the Croatian’s number. As it turns out, however, no decision has been made on this matter.
Valdika Lemic, Luka Modric’s agent, spoke about the future of his protégé. According to him, no decision has been made so far.
So far, nothing is clear about Luka Modric’s future at Real Madrid. Everything will be clearer for us next week. Real Madrid is Modric’s homeland and together we will decide what is best, said Lemic, quoted by Foot Mercato.
In the 2023/2024 season, Luka Modrić played 42 matches for Real Madrid, but in most of them, he came from the bench.
However, he played for 2,070 minutes, recording two goals and seven assists. It must be admitted that these are really impressive numbers for a 38-year-old player.
