Motorists advise to avoid panic buying as NNPC maintains petroleum supply in Lagos
According to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited), more is being done to alleviate the current gasoline shortage in Lagos and the surrounding areas.
Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the firm, said in a statement that the retail division of NNPC Limited has fixed the problem and that everything will return to normal in the impacted area.
“NNPC Limited wishes to inform the general public that the tightness in Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) supply witnessed in some filling stations in Lagos was a result of an issue in one of the depots in the area.
“NNPC Retail Limited, our retail arm, has since resolved the issue and effective tomorrow, normalcy will be restored within the affected area.
“The NNPC Limited calls on motorists in Lagos to avoid panic buying of PMS as all hands are on deck to sustain sufficiency in the supply of petroleum products in the area.”
Nevertheless, the information gathered by Daily Stand Nigeria revealed that numerous depots were still in the process of lifting, even while commercial stock filling stations remained accessible to drivers and other customers.
