Ex-Kwara speaker Ali Ahmad mourns passing of Justice Belgore

Rt. Hon. Prof. Ali Ahmad, a constitutional law expert and former speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, has expressed his sadness over the loss of retired Justice of the Court of Appeal Ahmad Olarewaju Belgore.

As per family sources, the esteemed jurist passed away on Tuesday night after breaking his Ramadan fast.

The former speaker prayed for the great legal luminary’s soul to rest in his condolence statement, which was released by Steve Makinde, the spokesperson for his media office. He called the respected jurist’s passing as one death too many.

Professor Ali also extends his condolences to the good people of the Balogun Fulani constituency and the Ilorin Emirates Council, which is led by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari. He prayed that Allah would give them strength to cope with the loss of the late jurist and renowned son of the Emirate.

In his statement,

“I express my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late retired Justice of the Court of Appeal, Ahmad Olarewaju Belgore, over the passing of the late jurist who served the bar meritoriously throughout his service years.

“My heartfelt condolences go to the Ilorin Emirates Council led by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and the good people of Balogun Fulani constituency at this difficult time. May Almighty Allah grant us all the comfort to bear this irreplaceable loss.

“The demise of Justice Ahmad Olarewaju Belgore is one death too many. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, associates, and members of the bar who cherished the love for humanity and endearing legacies of our beloved jurist.

“It is my prayer that Almighty Allah accepts his return, forgives his shortcomings, and grants Justice Belgore Aljanatil-Fridaus,” Professor Ali prayed.
