Ademola Lookman at PSG, it’s over
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has added Désiré Doué as its fourth summer signing. The team is still struggling to find a replacement for Kylian Mbappé. Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman was rumored to be close to joining. But, French journalist Daniel Riolo revealed the deal is off.
PSG began their Ligue 1 season with a 4-1 victory over Le Havre. Ousmane Dembélé, Randal Kolo Muani, and Bradley Barcola scored, while Gonçalo Ramos assisted Kang-In Lee’s goal. Despite the win, Mbappé’s absence was noticeable, highlighting the need for a key forward.
PSG has considered several top players over recent months. These include Victor Osimhen, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. However, none have signed. Most recently, the focus shifted to Ademola Lookman, which caused a stir in Italy.
Reports from Italy rumored that PSG’s interest in Lookman had intensified. This was especially after the Nigerian was absent from Atalanta Bergamo’s match against Lecce.
Lookman reportedly asked to be left out, indicating progress in talks with PSG.
However, French journalist Daniel Riolo later reported that Lookman will not be joining PSG this summer. It remains to be seen whether PSG will pursue other options or let this opportunity pass by.
